Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Lagos governorship candidate made the announcement on Monday during a press conference in Ikeja, weeks after resigning from the PDP.
Citing internal crises and a lack of party discipline, Jandor expressed disappointment in the PDP’s handling of anti-party activities during the 2023 general elections.
He stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, elder statesmen, and supporters who share his vision for a prosperous Lagos.
Jandor acknowledged previous concerns about his exit from the APC but emphasized that his return was driven by the party’s commitment to winning elections and fostering development.
He also credited President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, for playing key roles in his decision to return.
Assuring his supporters that the move was in Lagos’ best interest, Jandor called for unity among progressives, pledging to work toward a better future for the state.
