Aston Villa and Liverpool played out an entertaining 2-2 draw in their Premier League encounter on Wednesday, with both teams delivering a thrilling contest at Villa Park.
Liverpool took an early lead in the 29th minute when Mohamed Salah found the back of the net, capitalising on a well-placed assist from Diogo Jota.
However, the home side responded in the 38th minute through Youri Tielemans, who slotted in the equaliser to bring Villa level at 1-1.
Just before halftime, Aston Villa completed their comeback as Ollie Watkins put them ahead in stoppage time (45+3’), finishing off a delivery from Lucas Digne to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage going into the break.
Liverpool, however, were not to be denied. In the 61st minute, Trent Alexander-Arnold levelled the score at 2-2, with Salah registering his first assist of the game.
Despite both teams pushing for a winner, neither could find the decisive goal, and the match ended with the points shared.
