It was an atmosphere of joy and glamour as Mrs. Adenike Sodipo, a Deputy Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, was installed as the new District Chairman of the Inner Wheel Club District 911.
The event, held at the prestigious Country Club on Joel Ogunnaike Street in Ikeja, Lagos, was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, family members, professional colleagues, and old schoolmates of the new DC.
Various delicacies and assorted drinks were provided in abundance for the delight of members of the Club and guests, who danced to a selection of evergreen songs showcased by the DJ.
The guest lecturer, Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, charged members of the Inner Wheel Club to remain steadfast in their support of humanity, especially the less privileged in society.
She also believes that the Club will excel if discipline remains the watchword among members and is applied to all their intervention programs.
In her acceptance speech, the new District Chairman, Mrs. Adenike Sodipo, said her major focus will be medical outreach for the less privileged, especially the young, the aged, and women.
According to her, the Inner Wheel Club under her leadership will collaborate with the Rotary Club and other like-minded organizations to embark on free eye screenings and surgical treatments for all categories of people who require them.
DC Sodipo also promised to uphold the trust reposed in her and run an open and inclusive organization during her tenure.
Enlightenment and regular campaigns to reposition the youth for a better future will be a priority.
According to her, raising funds to execute their laudable programs will not pose a problem, stressing that they already have commitments from spirited Nigerians.
The outgoing District Chairman 911, Magdalene Adegoke, said that she addressed the gathering with pride, having led an esteemed organization.
She said that it was an extraordinary journey that positively changed her life and those they served who benefited from their various interventions.
Adegoke noted that the Inner Wheel Club had impacted lives in many ways, faced challenges, and celebrated successes. She expressed pride in the collective achievements during her stewardship.
According to her, all the efforts were geared towards creating a better world for all to live in, driven by the zeal to make a change.
She thanked the elders of the organization for giving her the opportunity to serve and expressed confidence that the incoming DC will take the group to the next level, while promising her continued support.
The Chairman of the Installation Committee, Mrs. Toyin Ogedengbe, said that the Inner Wheel Club remains committed to caring for and protecting the vulnerable in society at all times.
She urged wealthy Nigerians and well-wishers at the gathering to donate generously towards the success of their programs.
