•Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, represented the First Lady of Nigeria and delivered an address during the distribution of over 900 food bags by the Renewed Hope Initiative to vulnerable groups and people across 44 local government areas of Kano State on Thursday, 23rd May.
First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to implement programs and policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens.
She made this statement at the Government House in Kano during the arrival of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Food Truck in the state.
The Social Investment Program Food Outreach Scheme of the Renewed Hope Initiative distributed 900 bags of assorted food items to vulnerable individuals and those with special needs across forty-four local government areas in Kano State.
This distribution is part of a larger project designed to cover all 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
The program was launched in Abuja, and after Kano, Nasarawa State is expected to be the next recipient of the food truck.
National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative and First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, stated that the food outreach scheme was born out of a desire to support persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
Represented by the Wife of the Vice President and Vice Chairman of RHI, Hajiya Nana Shettima, at the Government House in Kano, she assured Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed to improving the lives of all citizens.
According to the National Chairman, the RHI is aligned with the President’s vision.
The Representative of the Kano State Governor, Commissioner for Agriculture Alhaji Hassan Danjuma, announced the contribution of land to women farmers as part of the Women in Agriculture Program (WASP) of the RHI.
The State Governor commended the First Lady for her intervention and further supported the beneficiaries by donating pumping machines and land.
The symbolic distribution of food items was conducted by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, who also presented cheques to women farmers on behalf of the First Lady.
While in Kano, the Wife of the Vice President visited Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital to sympathize with the victims of the Kano Mosque fire.
