The State Working Committee of the Kano chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken action against certain ward party leaders who previously suspended the national chairman of the party, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje.
According to Gatekeepers News, leaders in Ganduje’s ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government had announced the suspension of the APC national chairman on Monday.
However, the party’s local government officials swiftly countered the suspension and removed those responsible.
APC Dawakin Tofa Local Government chairman, Inusa Dawanau, informed reporters that those involved in the suspension of the national chairman were engaged in anti-party activities and had been found to have held meetings with the opposition.
The state working committee of the party has endorsed the suspension of the ward APC leaders, imposing sanctions on them for six months. A special investigations panel has been established to examine various allegations against them.
Kano APC chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, confirmed that the decisions of the local government party leaders had been officially endorsed.
He stated, “We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those who suspended the National Chairman. The state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months, and they are now suspended.”
