I applaud the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the remarkable launch of the Lagos Film City project, in the serene Ejinrin town in Epe Local Government Area.
This visionary step will reshape Lagos into a global center for creativity, artistry, and cinematic excellence, reflecting the state’s unwavering commitment to fostering culture, innovation, and economic growth.
As we’ve observed with the impact of Hollywood on the United States and Bollywood on India, this project, if managed effectively, promises to generate substantial revenue, boost tourism, and place our country on the global stage.
The Lagos Film City aspires to become a world-class destination, attracting both local and international productions. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, post-production facilities, and support services, this hub will offer all the resources necessary for globally recognized cinema production, eliminating the need to export creative content.
This project has the potential to revolutionize Nigeria’s entertainment industry and bring about positive changes in various sectors, including tourism, hospitality, and the creative arts.
It is undoubtedly a game-changer for the Nigerian entertainment industry, opening up a world of possibilities for our local talent and solidifying Lagos’ position as a creative hub.
The benefits will extend beyond the creative community to the larger economy. It will attract local and international investments, boost tourism, and establish Lagos as a preferred global destination for film production, ultimately generating revenue for the state and fostering collaboration with industry players worldwide.
As we celebrate this significant milestone, I, Hon. Segun Olulade Eleniyan, the Oluomo of Ejirin Kingdom, on behalf of our sons and daughters in Epe and beyond, implore all stakeholders, including filmmakers, investors, and the public, to unite in supporting the Lagos Film City project.
Let us rally behind the government’s efforts to create an enabling environment for the growth of the film industry in Lagos. Together, we can achieve the kind of success Hollywood has brought to the United States and Bollywood to India.
Congratulations once again to the Lagos State Government and its partners on this remarkable achievement.
