Someone has rightly said, ‘beauty isn’t just about having a pretty face, it is about having a pretty mind, a glowing heart, and most importantly, a beautiful soul’. However, there are still many people who lack this moral and run after appearance rather than personality. Beauty is not in the face, but is a light in the heart. There is much difference between looking beautiful and feeling beautiful. The term ‘beauty’ refers to the inner beauty. Inner beauty is based on personality traits, such as attitude and behavior.
Furthermore, sales of fairness creams make it clear that to have a fair complexion is an obsession in the society. There is a clear discrimination being carried out across the country and society.
When we read matrimonial advertisement, it is really disheartening to see that everyone wants a fair bride , even for job advertisements, everyone demand for fair skin people.
It is totally in contrast to people of Western countries where they are crazy about getting tanned skin. Also, they pay a certain amount to get tanned skin.
It is high time we understood that we all are supposed to be different, our brown skin has its own beauty and it perfectly suit us. What matters is to have a beautiful heart under the skin. We need to focus on being good human beings, only that will take us somewhere in life.
Beauty is only skin deep; it is something that will stay only for a short period of time. Whereas, a positive character is eternal.
Therefore, instead of giving preference to a fair complexion, one should look at the inner beauty which provides perceptual experience, pleasure, and satisfaction, inspiring us to perform good deeds.
