People blame the government in Nigeria for every single thing. Yes, the government is not a saint they are likewise to be blamed. But who are the governments? Governments are humans. They are individuals like us who are just called government because of the position they hold in the region.
Nigeria is an unscrupulous country, every Nigerian is corrupt. It is up to us the citizen to change our society. Every bad thing that happens in Nigeria now is the regime’s fault. For instance, the unknown gunmen. Yes, the authority is meant to provide adequate security in the region which they previously failed. But what about the characters that parade themselves as the unknown gunmen killing humans in society, why are they not blamed? Why will, you as a Nigerian kill your fellow Nigerian? Don’t you have a heart? It is so sad.
Another instance is the high market rate of dollars. Most of the people are involved in the importing and exporting industry in Nigeria. Which has to do with the swap of currency to the Naira or Naira to the dollar. Yes, it is understandable that the law is to be blamed in this situation. But what about folk who sell their goods at excessive prices to the people, in the pretense that the soaring price of currency affected their business? We Nigerians cause our problem.
In addition, many issues need to be addressed, yes the authority requires to take responsibility for the nations. But the nations need to act responsibly rather than blaming the authority. I spend most of my spare time on an App called Instagram. So, I was on Instagram one day, I noticed a video of an uproar in “OJOTA” it was between some police and OPC. I checked under the comment section, and maybe I can know the cause of the riot, but I got that most of the comments are “the government caused it“ How? Why not condemn the individuals involved in the uproar who are supposed to stop riots in the region, and protect the residents who are doing the opposite the next step for the societies is to criticize the government.
The citizens are the only ones who can help themselves. The curb of corruption has to establish from the people, down to the authority. We need to constantly think about Nigeria as a wonderful region and make it glorious.
In conclusion, everything I have said is for the adjustments to start from us the people, and we should consistently take responsibility for our actions rather than condemning the government all the time. Even though they are not perfect, they too have plenty of developments to do.
