Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies, PNAFSA hereby commiserates with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja for the loss of some Army personnel on Sunday, August 13,2023 and Monday August 14,2023, respectively, in Niger State.
The gallantry of these heroes who paid the supreme price in the discharge of a committed duty to the unity and security of our dear country , Nigeria, can never be equated.
With the evident reality of Nigeria being assailed in many fronts with a multiplicity of internal security, ranging from terrorism, armed banditry, separatists agitation among other violent crimes, the Nigerian Army in particular and the Military in general , have lived up to the expectation .
In their determination to contend with the relentless hydra-headed monster of insecurity orchestrated by armed bandits in Niger State, these brave Army personnel had gone to attend to a distress call, only to be ambushed .
Even in the face of death, they put up resilience and doggedness, and with the collaboration of some members of a vigilante group, they gunned down 50 violent non-state actors.
They took the bullets in delight , for the safety of defenseless Nigerians and died for what they knew and stood for.
Our hearts go out for members of their families who are devastated with the sad news and are left with no one to fill the vacuum created.
PSFNASA therefore , reemphasizes on the need for all hands to be on deck in the battle against insecurity in Nigeria. Though our troops are determined to defend us from the enemies of the state, every patriotic Nigerian has a part to play in this regard. It should not be left for the Military or security agencies alone.
Signed
Convener PNAFSA
