Leader of the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Comrade Razaq Olokoba has said that, the award of distinction and quality service from SERVICOM won on Thursday by the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, has vindicated the CSOs that have been commending him for doing a very good job.
Olokoba, in a chat with newsmen in Lagos weekend reminded that, the CSOs on Tuesday addressed a press conference where they advised the new President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to retain Bawa with a view to strengthening the war against corruption through various reforms he has commenced in the recent time.
And because of that reforms, the new administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has therefore been urged that, as a matter of necessity should not only retain the Abdurasheed Bawa-led administration of the EFCC, but also strengthen it more vigorously with all the required tools and logistics to enable it accomplish all the plans towards successful fight against grafts it has commenced.
“President Tinubu should ignore all the detractors and the rented crowd of corruptly induced crowd of detractors, who do not mean well for the country. All the well-meaning Nigerians should also take time to study scientific approaches Bawa is introducing into the anti-grafts war with a view to understanding and be convinced about why the Bawa-led commission should be supported and allowed to be retained,” the coalition admonished.
Olokoba who doubles as the Convener and National President of the Campaign for Good Governance (CDG), was reacting to the statement from the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren who made the award known to the media. The award, according to Uwujaren was given to Bawa in recognition of his dedication and support in achieving SERVICOM’s vision and mission.
It is in the news that, the National Coordinator/Chief Executive, SERVICOM, Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, presented the award at a one-day stakeholder’s forum for directors of reforms, nodal officers, public relations officers and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), in Abuja.
Akajemeli, who presented the SERVICOM award for ‘quality service’ to Bawa was quoted to have noted that the event was aimed at sustaining service delivery enlightenment campaigns on the damaging effects of service failures, just as she commended the EFCC for raising the bar in strengthening the service delivery campaign.
“We therefore urge the EFCC boss to see the award as a clarion call to do more,” Olokoba advised saying, commendation for a good job done is an indirect way of asking for more good jobs to be done.
