Last December, the maiden edition was held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, in celebration of outstanding young people in the centre of excellence, Lagos.

The maiden edition tagged ‘The Working Tribe’, honoured 15 exemplary youths who have excelled in Legal Practice, Medicine, Media, Agriculture, Public Service, Governance, Tech, Entertainment, Advocacy, Entrepreneurship Arts/Literature, and Sports.

Some of the pioneer winners include media entrepreneur and former presidential aspirant, Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi (Most Outstanding Young Entrepreneur); the newly appointed Special Adviser to the Lagos State governor on Special Duties, Mobolaji Ogunlende (Young Person of the Year); Kosofe LGA chairman, Moyo Ogunlewe (Most Outstanding Young Person in Governance); Special Adviser to the Lagos State Government on Health, Dr. Tunde Ajayi, (Most Outstanding Young Person in Health); comedian and activist, Debo Adedayo (Mr. Macaroni), among others.

In a statement, Kayode Badmus, Co-Founder/Lead Strategist at BBN360 disclosed that this year’s edition of the Lagos Youth Awards will be bigger and better.

“We strongly believe in creating a culture of excellence among young people in Lagos. That’s what LYA stands for. Our purpose is to celebrate disruptors, change makers and drivers of transformation across different fields of endeavour,” he said.

The event promises a line-up of interesting activities including a special keynote address to be delivered by a yet-to-be-unveiled young personality.

This second edition of the Lagos Youth Awards, themed “The Disruptors” is billed to hold on December 23, 2022, at Raddison Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, with over 1,000 participants expected to be in attendance.
