A private school proprietor in Ogun State, Uztadz Khalilullah Ibrahim has floated a charity organization to cater for the vulnerable in the community like the widows, needy, people living with physical challenges, indigent students, orphans, the sick and the less privileged among others.
The outfit is christened Al-Khaleely Islamic Foundation (AKIF). The theme of the maiden edition of the annual event is, “Reaching out to widows.”
Ibrahim, the youthful Computer Engineer and Proprietor of De-Pillar Nursery/Primary School, situated at 10, Ifelodun Street, Oko Baale area of Ota, Ogun State, told press men Monday, November 5, that the Foundation is tailored in line with the teaching of Islam that encourages giving out to the less privileged in the society indiscriminately.
According to him, some items for distribution include food stuff, JAMB forms, cash, condiments, school materials, scholarship and others, disclosing that, the first outing of the Foundation would come up on Wednesday, December 14 at the school premises starting from 10am prompt.
An erudite Islamic Scholar and Guest Speaker of the day, Fadhilatu Sheikh Al-Imam Ojibara Albarka, is expected to deliver the maiden lecture of the day titled; Charity in Islam before the commencement of the distribution of the available items.
On funding, the young Engineer, who is an alumnus of D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ogun State, informed that, presently, only associates and like mind friends decided to donate for the commencement of the program, adding however that, some other people across the country and beyond, who believe in us and the importance of the program have signified their intentions to reach out to us before the day of the event.
Ibrahim did not forget to state categorically that, “Islam encourages distribution and spreading of wealth across board,” pointing out that, “that is the reason the Almighty Allah decrees Zakat as the third pillar of Islam.”
