{"id":9987,"date":"2022-08-18T05:14:06","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T05:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=9987"},"modified":"2022-08-18T05:14:06","modified_gmt":"2022-08-18T05:14:06","slug":"ibb-charges-citizens-to-be-patient-prayerful-says-nigerias-insecurity-would-be-over-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=9987","title":{"rendered":"IBB Charges Citizens To Be Patient, Prayerful Says Nigeria\u2019s Insecurity Would Be Over Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, sounding a note of hope and optimism on the eve of his birthday on Wednesday, said the security challenges currently facing the country would be over soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Babangida, who turned 81 yesterday, said Nigerians should be patient, prayerful, and supportive of one another.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The former head of state spoke on Tuesday when officials of the Correspondent Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Niger State paid him a birthday visit at his Minna residence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Speaking in Minna on the eve of his 81st birthday, Babangida urged those behind the series of insurgency across the country to have a change of heart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He said, \u201cNigerians should be patient and should be convinced that this, too, shall pass. God in His infinite mercy will come to our rescue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Babangida advised Nigerians to be patient and prayerful and continue to sensitise one another on the need to live in peace with one another. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He observed that the strategies he had used to secure the country while he was in power might not be applicable now, saying, \u201cThings have changed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">On his 81st birthday, Babangida said, \u201cI give thanks to God Almighty that has kept me till today. Alhamudullillah.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Babangida said journalists in the state had been doing a tremendous job in propagating the state and the country.
