Cristiano Ronaldo\u2019s Tuesday meeting wasn\u2019t fruitful as he asked Manchester United to end his contract so he could join a Champions League side.<\/p>\n
Cristiano Ronaldo arrived back at Manchester United\u2019s training ground on Tuesday ahead of talks with new manager Erik ten Hag over his Old Trafford future.<\/span><\/p>\n The 37-year-old, who missed the club\u2019s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia for personal reasons, wants to leave the club he rejoined last year.<\/span><\/p>\n He arrived at United\u2019s Carrington training base with his agent Jorge Mendes. Former United manager Alex Ferguson was also seen arriving.<\/span><\/p>\n New United manager Ten Hag said earlier this month that Ronaldo was \u201cnot for sale.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He said, \u201cWe are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that\u2019s it and I\u2019m looking forward to working with him.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI have read it, but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together,\u201d Agence France-Presse reported.<\/span><\/p>\n Talks over the 37-year-old to make commitments to the Red Devils were not productive but could carry on professionally.<\/span><\/p>\n The forward missed the United\u2019s pre-season tour in Thailand and Australia but was available for a medical checkup on Wednesday at which he watched his side\u2019s 4-1 victory against Wrexham.<\/span><\/p>\n The Portuguese superstar could play the pre-season fixture against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford, Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n United start their Premier League campaign at home to Brighton on August 7 after final pre-season games this weekend against Atletico Madrid in Norway and Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Cristiano Ronaldo\u2019s Tuesday meeting wasn\u2019t fruitful as he asked Manchester United to end his contract so he could join a Champions League side.
