{"id":9258,"date":"2022-06-24T13:25:19","date_gmt":"2022-06-24T13:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=9258"},"modified":"2022-06-24T13:25:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-24T13:25:19","slug":"chelsea-eye-osimhen-to-replace-lukaku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=9258","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea Eye Osimhen To Replace Lukaku"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Todd Boehly has drawn up a shortlist of five strikers to replace Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea this summer and according to reports, Victor Osimhen is one of those names on the new Chelsea boss\u2019s list.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Lukaku sealed his return to Inter Milan on loan on Tuesday, having been blatant in his desire to return to the Serie A side after a miserable season, in which he scored just 15 goals in 44 appearances.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Boehly was initially against allowing the \u00a397.5m striker leave but was convinced by manager Thomas Tuchel that it was the best solution for all parties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And now the Daily Mail claims Boehly\u2019s priority is to replace Lukaku, with five strikers \u2018under discussion\u2019 at the club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Boehly is now working closely with Thomas Tuchel on transfers at Chelsea following the departure of director Marina Granovskaia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Osimhen, who won the Italian Serie A Most Valuable Player for U-23 footballers, has attracted the attention of many clubs and is one of the most sought-after players in Europe after a fine season in Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Nigeria international scored 18 goals and registered six assists for Napoli in all competitions despite missing a chunk of the season with injury.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He also scored five goals in two games for the Super Eagles in the opening AFCON qualifying group stage games. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Four of those goals came in an impressive performance against a lacklustre Sao Tome side as Super Eagles mauled them 10-0 in Morocco.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Todd Boehly has drawn up a shortlist of five strikers to replace Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea this summer and according to reports, Victor Osimhen is one of those names on the new Chelsea boss\u2019s list.
