The national coordinator of The Atiku Rennaisance, Azibola Omekwe, has said that the former vice-president’s statement that he is yet to make up his mind to run for the presidency in 2019, is capable of demoralising his supporters, most especially some of whom have already commenced groundwork for his presidential ambition.<\/p>\n
The former vice-president told VOA Hausa when he featured on a magazine program on Tuesday that Nigerians will know when he eventually takes the bold move.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor now I have not made up my mind. When I decide, I will let the world know,\u201d said Atiku.<\/p>\n
Azibola while reacting to the statement, said the 2019 ambition of Atiku has gained considerable momentum in recent weeks, a \u2018moving train\u2019 he said would be difficult to reverse.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust recently, some people came out to say that they will sue the former vice-president if he fails to join the race. That\u2019s how serious some of his supporters have now taken his ambition.\u201d<\/p>\n
Azibola acknowledged that the final decision on Atiku\u2019s political choice in 2019 would be the former vice-president\u2019s to make.<\/p>\n
Atiku\u2019s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, said the politician\u2019s fans should not be demoralised by the comments.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe spoke in the context of his ongoing consultations, but he\u2019ll eventually make up his mind to run. Those who have started politicking on his behalf should continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ibe said Atiku will continue sparring with the Buhari administration ahead of his formal announcement.<\/p>\n
