{"id":7777,"date":"2022-05-06T10:21:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T10:21:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=7777"},"modified":"2022-05-06T10:21:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-06T10:21:39","slug":"lagos-23-methodist-bishops-hailed-for-sanwo-olus-2nd-term-endorsement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=7777","title":{"rendered":"Lagos \u201923: Methodist Bishops Hailed For Sanwo-Olu\u2019s 2nd Term Endorsement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Several rights groups, pro-democracy outfits and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), have hailed the Bishops of the Methodist Church Nigeria over their unanimous endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for a second term in office, describing their endorsement as divine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The bishops\u2019 endorsement was announced Tuesday, during the Opening Session of the 39th Bishops\u2019 Council of Methodist Church Nigeria at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu area of Lagos metropolis, by the Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Samuel Uche who hinged the endorsement on the commendable performance of the governor\u2019s administration in Lagos State.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Leader of Campaign Against Corrupt Nigerians (CACN), Comrade Razak Omobanke in a chat with journalist in Lagos Friday said, \u201cthe endorsement that comes from these incorruptible men of God is a clear indication that it is divine and genuine,\u201d adding that, \u201cany declaration from this set of clerics is surely a divine one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Speaking in the same vein, Convener of Egbe Omoluabi Eko, Comrade Adewale Oladipupo enthused that, \u201cwith the words from the mouths of these men of God, Sanwo-Olu\u2019s second term in office has had God\u2019s signature and so has become a done deal directly from the Heavens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Olodipupo, who spoke in Epe Thursday, was of the conviction that, \u201cany utterances from the pulpits manned by incorruptible men like the bishops of the Methodist Church Nigeria can be taken to the bank as collateral for any monetary assistance,\u201d saying, \u201cbecause they are not known to be worldly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Another NGO boss, Barrister Temitope Success-Adekunle, in her own remarks expressed the assurance that, \u201cthe situation is clear that, the 2023 election, as regards Governor Sanwo-Olu will just be as mere formality,\u201d asserting that, \u201cit is a project that has already had God\u2019s hand in it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Success Adekunle, who is the Convener of the all-women NGO, Women for Change Initiatives, based her group\u2019s submission on the fact that, \u201ceverybody is very convinced and satisfied with the service to humanity that has been Sanwo-Olu\u2019s mantra all this while,\u201d expressing the delights that, \u201ceven those who are opinion moulders are satisfied with the governor\u2019s performance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Against the foregoing, in his own contribution to the Bishops\u2019 stand on Sanwo-Olu\u2019s second term in office,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Convener, Speak Out 24\/7, Comrade Adekunle Adeosun therefore expressed the need for all and sundry to put all hands on deck to make the endorsement a reality warning that, &#8220;complicancy can be dangerous because 24 hours is long enough a period in politics to dismantle well arranged plans.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several rights groups, pro-democracy outfits and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), have hailed the Bishops of the Methodist Church Nigeria over their unanimous endorsement of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State for a second term in office, describing their endorsement as divine.
