An alleged serial rapist, Pastor Michael Oliseh, has been sent to life imprisonment for raping his friend\u2019s 12-year-old twin daughters.<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old randy pastor was jailed by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n It was gathered that the assistant pastor in a Pentecostal church at Okota, Lagos State, raped the minors in turns.<\/span><\/p>\n He defiled them after their father entrusted them in his care and travelled to the village for burial.<\/span><\/p>\n Oliseh was charged with two counts bordering on defilement, contrary to Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n Five witnesses testified at the trial and five exhibits were tendered.<\/span><\/p>\n The prosecution counsel, Olufunke Adegoke, said Oliseh committed the crime in November 2017 in Ago, Okota, Lagos State.<\/span><\/p>\n She said, \u201cOliseh threatened the survivors that their father would become jobless if they told anyone about the sexual assault.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n She added that Oliseh was caught by one of the neighbours in the compound after he chased and dragged one of the girls by her pants.<\/span><\/p>\n Delivering judgement, Justice Soladoye, who described Oliseh as a \u201cserial rapist\u201d, held that the prosecution convincingly proved the charges of defilement against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhat a disloyal and untrustworthy pastor, who shamelessly and audaciously had sexual intercourse with his friend\u2019s children who were entrusted in his care.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe defendant is found guilty as charged and hereby sentenced to life imprisonment.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe sentence should run concurrently and the defendant\u2019s name should be entered in the Sex Offenders Register of the Lagos State Government,\u201d the Justice averred.<\/span><\/p>\n Justice Soladoye berated the parents of the survivors for sending them to stay with the convict.<\/span><\/p>\n She said, \u201cParents of the survivors lack discipline and ought not to have sent their children to stay in Oliseh\u2019s house.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cChildren are not to be entrusted with randy adults and should be kept in the hands of responsible adults who have their goodwill at heart.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" An alleged serial rapist, Pastor Michael Oliseh, has been sent to life imprisonment for raping his friend\u2019s 12-year-old twin daughters.
