Sunday morning rainstorm in some parts of Lagos State, left many residents counting their losses, as they bemoaned the destruction that followed the downpour.<\/p>\n

The early morning rain which started around 8am, fell for over three hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was gathered that the rainstorm uprooted trees which fell on at least five cars and several buildings around Muri Okunola Street, in Victoria Island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some power lines were not spared by the raging storm. Video clips and photos showing different exotic cars damaged by the fallen trees trended online.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the residents could also be seen trying to cut the trees and drag them off the vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI woke up this morning (Sunday) around 8.30am and saw the level of destruction the rainstorm caused. It uprooted trees on the street, which fell on some cars parked on the street; some buildings were also damaged. One of the SUVs was completely wrecked; the other four got severely damaged.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAlready, the power lines are being pulled off the road by the electric company, while labourers have started cutting the trees in order to clear the debris,\u201d said a resident in Victoria Island.<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Head of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Adeseye Margaret, said that there was no report of any damage or casualties due to the rainstorm.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
