The Bayelsa State Police Command has been thrown into mourning following the death of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Asufi.<\/p>\n
PUNCH Metro gathered that Asufi, said to be in his late 50s, slumped and died at the command headquarters in Yenagoa on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n Until his demise, Asufi, who hailed from Delta State, was in charge of administration at the command.<\/span><\/p>\n The deceased had also served as the chief security officer to the Bayelsa State Government House as well as commander of the state-owned security outfit, Operation Doo Akpo.<\/span><\/p>\n A policeman attached to the command\u2019s Operation Puff Adder, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, \u201cIt (Asufi\u2019s death) was shocking. Many of us saw him come to the headquarters smiling and exchanging pleasantries with everyone, including the rank and file.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBut we were shocked when an alarm was raised that he collapsed.
