Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has dismissed consensus advocates in the Peoples Democratic Party. He described them as insincere.<\/p>\n
Wike, speaking in Minna to woo delegates for his ambition, said consensus was alien to the party\u2019s constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n He said the only condition under which he could accept consensus was if it was based on fairness.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI will agree on consensus if it is based on equity, justice and fairness, because as it is, those who are talking about consensus are not sincere and there is nothing like consensus in our constitution,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n He promised to tackle the festering insecurity in parts of the country to allow farmers return to their farms and grow the economy.<\/span><\/p>\n He said: \u201cThe day you give me the ticket is the day we will start to form the government, because by giving me the ticket, I know I\u2019ve won the election already.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt is only when you\u2019ve given me the ticket that I\u2019ll make sure that I present, put together the best of\u00a0professionals that will help me to run the affairs of this country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n He slammed the federal government for pardoning\u00a0former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye and former Taraba Governor Jolly Nyame, both of whom had been jailed for corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n He said: \u201cThey turned around to release from prison those people that they said are corrupt. What a country and what a government!<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cDoing it for political reasons because the elections are coming and they want (Joshua) Dariye to help their party in Plateau State. They want (Jolly) Nyame to help them in Taraba State.
