Not less than five persons, including two reverend sisters, a couple and their driver, were burnt to death in a road crash at Nawfia, along the Awka-Enugu Expressway, Anambra State.<\/p>\n
The tragic accident occurred on Wednesday, around 06.30am. The victims comprised of two male adults and three female adults.<\/span><\/p>\n It was gathered that the crash was between a Toyota Highlander with number plate BMR570BE, and a Toyota Hiace with no number plate.<\/span><\/p>\n It was learnt that the bus driver who was at top speed, lost control and rammed into the Highlander from behind, as both vehicles caught fire.<\/span><\/p>\n Men of the state fire service subsequently put out the fire. The Anambra State Sector Commander, FRSC, Adeoye Irelewuyi, attributed the crash to speeding.<\/span><\/p>\n He commiserated with the families of the victims and advised motorists to keep to the recommended speed limit.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cAn eyewitness disclosed that the bus driver was at top speed when he lost control and rammed into the Highlander from behind, crashed and both vehicles caught fire.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTwo male adults and three female adults, were involved in the crash and were burnt beyond recognition. Speed thrills, but kills, check your speed and not your watch.
