{"id":6913,"date":"2022-04-13T11:12:42","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T11:12:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=6913"},"modified":"2022-04-13T11:12:42","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T11:12:42","slug":"passengers-of-ill-fated-abuja-kaduna-train-not-insured-against-terror-attacks-fg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=6913","title":{"rendered":"Passengers Of Ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna Train Not Insured Against Terror Attacks \u2013 FG"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The Federal Government of Nigeria has dropped a bombshell that the Abuja-Kaduna train that was bombed by terrorists on March 28, 2022, in Kaduna State as well as the passengers who boarded the train are not insured against terror attacks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A senior officials of the Federal Government have stated this, whereas it was gathered that N50 was paid as a premium to two indigenous insurance companies on every train ticket purchased by passengers who boarded the Abuja-Kaduna train.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When asked whether the bombed train was insured, officials at the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the Nigerian Railway Corporation replied in the affirmative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The officials however, stressed that the insurance of the train was not against terror attacks, though efforts were ongoing to see how the insurance companies would support the government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">An official at the transportation ministry, who pleaded not to be named due to lack of authorisation to speak on the matter, stated that they have not gone public about it yet because they (insurance companies) said that any terrorist act is not covered by insurance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cBut on the train tickets, for every passenger, N50 is paid as premium for insurance. The train itself is insured but that does not cover acts of terrorism or banditry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cHowever, we are still trying to convince them (insurance firms) to see reasons why something could be done.
