{"id":6769,"date":"2022-04-08T11:53:44","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T11:53:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=6769"},"modified":"2022-04-08T11:53:44","modified_gmt":"2022-04-08T11:53:44","slug":"sack-lampard-now-anichebe-tells-everton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=6769","title":{"rendered":"Sack Lampard Now, Anichebe Tells Everton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Former Everton striker, Victor Anichebe, has urged the club to sack Frank Lampard following their 3-2 defeat by relegation rivals Burnley on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Clarets came from 2-1 down at half-time to claim victory and are now just one point behind the Toffees in the fight for survival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Everton, who next play Manchester United on Saturday, could drop into the relegation zone if they fail to win and Burnley are able to take all three points against Norwich a day later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Anichebe slammed the decision to only bring Salomon Rondon on in the final minutes, saying Dominic Calvert-Lewin was poor and that Lampard should be sacked as Everton manager<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Anichebe posted a number of messages on his Instagram story during the match, starting with his frustrations when Salomon Rondon only came off the bench in the 87th minute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Nigerian wrote that Lampard should be sacked as manager after just more than two months in charge at Goodison Park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He wrote, \u201cToo late\u2026 should\u2019ve brought him on 10 mins ago it was obvious\u2026 DCL (Dominic Calvert-Lewin) has been poor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe players aren\u2019t good enough but neither is Frank. As much as I love him as a player and he looks a top guy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cEverton will 100 per cent go down if a change isn\u2019t made.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">After the final whistle, Anichebe suggested that Everton should go for Sam Allardyce, who didn\u2019t endear himself to Everton fans during his six-month stay at the club from November 2017 to May 2018 \u2013 though he has a reputation for keeping clubs in the Premier League.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, he was relegated for the first time as a Premier League manager during his last spell with a club, at West Brom last season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Along with a picture of Allardyce, Anichebe wrote, \u201cI said it weeks ago\u2026 y\u2019all laughed. Some said rather go down with dignity. Okkkkk.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A little while later in his final post on Wednesday night, he wrote, \u201cApologies if I don\u2019t respond tonight, I just can\u2019t be bothered. So\u2026 The players are responsible first and foremost. But Everton\u2019s board is absolutely horrendous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe money they\u2019ve wasted, the sackings of influential staff like (Dan Donachie), not letting Marcel Brands actually do his job, bringing in Rafa (Benitez), creating a complete disconnect with fans and club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNext \u2013 appointing Lampard (who is a good coach) but appointing him when you know you\u2019re in a relegation battle with a tough run in\u2026 was absurd\u2026 him getting Alli who is a luxury player\u2026 in a relegation fight\u2026 baffling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIf something doesn\u2019t happen tonight they are 100 per cent going down. At the moment it\u2019s 60 per cent.
