The Lagos State Government has set up a 25-man Parks Management Committee.<\/p>\n
Immediate past Lagos State Commissioner of Police and Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu was named as Govt Liaison officer of the Committee, while Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo was named as chairman. <\/span><\/p>\n A statement issued by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso said members of the committee are to report to the Ministry of Transportation, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. <\/span><\/p>\n The statement reads: <\/span><\/p>\n The Lagos State Government has set up a committee to oversee the affairs of all motor parks and garages in the state. <\/span><\/p>\n This is in fulfillment of the Government\u2019s promise to ensure that events in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) are not allowed to threaten law and order. <\/span><\/p>\n The Government has, therefore,\u00a0 <\/span>exercised its constitutional powers to ensure that no vacuum, which can disrupt the peace of our dear state,is allowed to exist in the parks. This is a duty we owe all Lagosians and\u00a0 <\/span>visitors. <\/span><\/p>\n Members of the committee, who have been selected following consultations with stakeholders in the sector, are:<\/span><\/p>\n 1.
