As part of effort towards eradicating health care challenges amongst the needy and less privileged in the society, The Donner Foundation has organized a free health care program to assist the residents of its community.<\/p>\n

Food packs which comprises of noddles, spaghetti, sachet cooking oil, seasoning, sachet tomato etc were distributed to beneficiaries during the free health care exercise held at 32\/34 Karimu Laka Street, Egbeda, Lagos, Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The chairman of the foundation, Biodun Otun said he felt the need to support the less privileged in the society such as the old people, the orphans, the people living with disabilities and others who are in dire need of support.<\/span><\/p>\n

Otun added that the aim of the foundation is to address the needs of the society through vocational training and empowerment, free health care delivery, feeding and education.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAccording to him,\u201d anytime I stepped out of the house, I see a whole lot of things that are wrong and the people around us are not talking about it, the ills of the society. I want to be part of the people that will address this.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTherefore, today we are helping members of the public know their health status and provide necessary treatment or referrals where needed. There is no limit to our target reach, as many that come we will attend to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know that there are some persons that are sick and need medical attention but because of financial constraints they will be managing the situation until it get out of hand, so we are here to help. All what we are doing here is absolutely free, no charges of any kind, just come and you will be attended to.\u201d he stated.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leader of the medical team, Dr. Bayo Oduwaye of Summit Hospital, explained that they were out to conduct general health screening for the people, adding that most persons doesn\u2019t have time for their health.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him,\u201dI joined the team in order to help the masses by providing free health care to the needy. We found out that there are many that has health issues unaware. By telling them to come out to check their status, I have helped them to know one or two things about their health status.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOver 100 people have been attended to here today and we found out that about 25 of them are hypertensive, some are diabetics and are not taking any drugs. We are going to help them out by God\u2019s grace.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will follow up on them through their address, phone numbers, email addresses at our disposal. Health is paramount. Government should endeavor to provide free health care at all levels,\u201d said Dr Oduwaye.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
