The Lagos state government has reiterated its readiness to support every initiative aimed at empowering the residents.<\/p>\n

State commissioner for Finance, Dr. RABIU OLOWO who stated this said such support became imperative in order to make residents self reliant and productive.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was speaking at the distribution of Certificate to participants of 5 week intensive training for 625 people by the Centre for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition (CYDAS).<\/span><\/p>\n

Represented by Hon, GHAZALI ABDULAZEEZ, the commissioner urged beneficiaries to maximise the benefits of the training in also becoming an employer of labour.<\/span><\/p>\n

He said government will continue to provide conducive atmosphere for new business to thrive since it cannot alone meet job demands of residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also speaking at the event, APC chieftain in Lagos Mainlalnd, Otunba TAYO OYEMADE called for sustainability of the programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, when opportunities are created for the youths and the unemployed, it will lead to reduction in social vices affecting the society today.<\/span><\/p>\n

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of CYDAS, OLAPADE ALABA OLATUNJI commended the commissioner for bankrolling the training while also expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the participants. <\/span><\/p>\n

Some of the participants who thanked the commissioner for identifying with the programme said they already receiving patronage from far and near.<\/span><\/p>\n
