Paul Pogba has played down the apparent tension in the France camp this week, particularly between Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe.<\/p>\n
Karim Benzema\u2019s return after six years away from the national team had questions being raised about Giroud\u2019s role, with the Real Madrid and Chelsea forward having had a turbulent relationship in the past.<\/p>\n
But the problem Giroud has appears to be with Mbappe instead, as he has complained about making runs and not receiving passes.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo,\u201d Pogba said simply in a press conference on Thursday when asked about the tension between players.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only tension here is muscular, legs and joints!<\/p>\n
\u201cHonestly, I\u2019m inside (the camp) and there\u2019s a good atmosphere. If you\u2019re referring to Giroud and Mbappe then there\u2019s nothing, but I\u2019m not a police officer.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe comments have been taken out of context. Mbappe is a generous player who plays for the team, but sometimes I tell him to help the midfield a little more. I don\u2019t feel the tension that is spoken about on the outside.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pogba did then speak about Benzema\u2019s impact on the squad and what the Real Madrid forward brings to the side that were crowned world champions just three years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got a new weapon and it\u2019s a very good one,\u201d Pogba said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen the group is the same, we\u2019ve got a good atmosphere and that\u2019s what we\u2019ve got to take care of. That\u2019s the most important thing.<\/p>\n
