Lauds FG Over Tertiary Institutions’ Roads

A pro-Labour Non-Governmental Organization, Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Centre, has praised the Federal Government’s efforts at giving priority to the welfare of the students of higher learning across the country through provision of good roads in their campuses.

The commendation was contained in a press released signed by the NGO’s boss, Comrade Omobanke Razak in which he described the Federal Government as a reliable friend of the students and by extension, the youth generally, saying, “this singular act has portrayed Muhammadu Buhari’s administration as students friendly.”

The commendation, according to Omobanke, came at the heel of the disclosure of the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), that the Federal Government has constructed 43 roads in tertiary institutions across the country, saying, “it is praiseworthy to confirm that President Muhammadu Buhari’s love for the youth, students and education is unrivalled.”

The statement further added that, it is also heart-warming the Buhari is truly the father of the nation’s youth with his consideration for the students’ welfare through the way and manner that he extended the roads largesse to several campuses in the country.

The NGO also gave the Minister, Fashola, a pat on the back “for making us proud as a reliable, dependable, tested and trusted hand that has been adding value to the lives of the citizenry under the watchful eyes of President Buhari,” saying, the President himself would be proud for having such a workaholic performer in his administration.

The minister’s message, relayed by the Federal Controller, Works and Housing, Katsina State, Mr Babagoni Tahir, said the intervention is continuous to ease transportation and improve infrastructure in the institutions, disclosing that, “the feedback from students in the schools where the intervention were provided are fruitful and encouraging.”

The campuses that are beneficiaries of Fashola’s road largesse are Universities of Benin, Bayero in Kano, Oye, Ekiti State, Maiduguri, Borno State, Lokoja, Kogi State, Ibadan, Oyo State, Owerri, Imo State and Otuoke, in Bayelsa State among others.

Omobanke buttressed Fashola’s assertion that the student of the beneficiary institutions are happy with his efforts, when he reminded that, “Students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), who spoke to our monitors, were full of praises for the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari over its commitment to the welfare of the Nigerian students through smooth roads across the campuses in the country’s tertiary institutions.”

The NGO boss quoted the President, Northern Students Alliance, Farida Ishaq, who, on behalf of her other colleagues, said, “we are excited by the way the Federal Government has programmed the students in its efforts on infrastructure development.

“With what the students are witnessing across the campuses, we are of the strong conviction that, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works headed by Babatunde Fashola (SAN) would spread good roads across the country in not a distant time.”

With this development, Omobanke therefore enjoined the student body as well as the Nigerian people to support Buhari’s administration by encouraging the Minister, Fashola to intensify his efforts towards connecting all the nook and cranny of the country with excellent road networks.

The NGO also enjoined the good people of Nigeria to double their support for the current administration in the country, saying, “its commitment to the growth of the country is not in doubt just as its commitment to the country’s student population is not shaking.”

A pro-Labour Non-Governmental Organization, Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Centre, has
