{"id":4280,"date":"2020-10-14T12:04:59","date_gmt":"2020-10-14T12:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maadhouze.com\/?p=4280"},"modified":"2020-10-14T12:04:59","modified_gmt":"2020-10-14T12:04:59","slug":"uae-research-program-for-rain-enhancement-science-announces-targeted-research-areas-for-fourth-cycle-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=4280","title":{"rendered":"UAE Research Program For Rain Enhancement Science Announces Targeted Research Areas For Fourth Cycle Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"s3\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) today announced the targeted research areas of the program&#8217;s fourth cycle, which will be open for proposal submission<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">s<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> in early 2021<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s8\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4281\" src=\"http:\/\/maadhouze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/DCFFD6D5-5ABA-4D53-8579-4B0DEB5E39DB-300x188.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/DCFFD6D5-5ABA-4D53-8579-4B0DEB5E39DB-300x188.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/DCFFD6D5-5ABA-4D53-8579-4B0DEB5E39DB.jpeg 415w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"><br \/>\nThese areas were selected by a team of international <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">atmospheric research <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">experts based on the outputs of the nine research projects awarded <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">b<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">etween <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">2015<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8211;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">2017,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the outcomes of the 4<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s10\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">th<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> International Rain Enhancement Forum and the recommendations from <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) expert meeting held in Geneva and <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the 4<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s10\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">th<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> cycle program solicitation workshop.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Placing high priority o<\/span><\/span><a name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">n emerging technologies and innovations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, and multi-institutional, multi-national \u00a0collaborations<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> to drive the development <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">rain enhancement science, the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> updated<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> areas include advances in weather modeling and forecasting using artificial intelligence and ensemble modelling, evaluation of rain enhancement efficacy through the utilization of cloud chamber and statistical methods, innovations in rain enhancement systems through the integration of new measurement and numerical tools, and leveraging <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">novel <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">rain enhancement models, among others.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">In parallel, the program will continue to support <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">previously targeted areas to help the awardees fulfill the<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">ir project<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">objectives. Information about <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the research areas of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">on-going projects can be found on www.uaerep.ae. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Al <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mandous<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, Director of NCM and President of the Regional Association II (Asia) of WMO, said: \u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">T<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">he program\u2019s updated research areas<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> will<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> push forward the rain enhancement research to the next level of impact and sophistication. We welcome new researchers, technologists and entrepreneurs to <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">join the program <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">to<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> bring new perspectives to\u00a0rain enhancement\u00a0research<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> and<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> support the development of demand-driven solutions <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">to <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">address the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">evolving<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> water-security challenges.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s9\"><span class=\"s7\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">For her part, Alya Al Mazroui, Director of the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science, said: \u201cThe research areas identified by our international experts and scientists create unexplored\u00a0avenues for generating new\u00a0knowledge and innovation in rain enhancement science, while also building on the results and expertise gained over the program\u2019s nine awarded projects.
