{"id":3815,"date":"2020-04-29T06:52:14","date_gmt":"2020-04-29T06:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/maadhouze.com\/?p=3815"},"modified":"2020-04-29T06:52:14","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T06:52:14","slug":"emirates-mars-mission-hope-probe-ready-for-launch-from-japans-tanegashima-space-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=3815","title":{"rendered":"Emirates Mars Mission: Hope Probe Ready For Launch From Japan\u2019s Tanegashima Space Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The UAE Space Agency and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center announced <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the safe transfer of the Mars Hope <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">spacecraft<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> to its launch site at Tanegashima Space Centre.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The transfer was <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">conducted<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> in an 83-hour operation brought forward from its scheduled <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">May shipment date<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">because of the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">travel and movement <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">restrictions imposed by international efforts to contain the impact of Covid-19.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> The Emirates Mars Mission, dubbed The Hope Probe is the first interplanetary exploration undertaken by an Arab nation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3817\" src=\"http:\/\/maadhouze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/B8AE408C-FC6A-4F04-A27A-234F3AB5B2BE-300x200.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/B8AE408C-FC6A-4F04-A27A-234F3AB5B2BE-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/B8AE408C-FC6A-4F04-A27A-234F3AB5B2BE-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/B8AE408C-FC6A-4F04-A27A-234F3AB5B2BE-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/B8AE408C-FC6A-4F04-A27A-234F3AB5B2BE.jpeg 1392w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"><br \/>\n\u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">We\u2019re on track for our July launch now,\u201d said EMM Mission lead Omran Sharaf. \u201c<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">M<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">itigation planning and early action<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">along with <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the support of our partners and the Japanese Government<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> saved the day \u2013 the whole operation was basically a race against the clock <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">and Covid-19 <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">to ensure we managed to have the spacecraft at Tanegashima ready for its July\/August launch window<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> to Mars<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">A team of engineers <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">travelled <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">to Tanegashima <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">two<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> weeks prior to the probe\u2019s <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">early <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">transfer in order to go through quarantine in time to meet the <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">arriving shipment<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">. A second team of engineers <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">accompanied<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> the spacecraft<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">,<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> is now<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">in quarantine and scheduled to be ready for final tests and preparation of the spacecraft to launch <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">on a <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Mitsubishi MH2A <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">rocket<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The transfer operation saw an Antonov 124 heavy lifter carry the spacecraft in a specialised temperature and atmosphere<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">&#8211;<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">controlled container from Maktoum International Airport in The Emirates to Chubu Centrair International Airport at Nagoya, Japan. The spacecraft was then loaded onto a sea <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">freighter, carried to Tanegashima\u2019s Shimama Seaport<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\"> and then transferred by night to the launch site.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">The Emirates Mars Mission was conceived to disrupt and accelerate the development of the UAE\u2019s space sector, education and science community. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">Led by MBRSC under the supervision of <\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">the UAE Space Agency, t<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">he mission will send the Mars Hope probe to orbit Mars in February 2021. Hope aims to build the first full picture of Mars\u2019 climate throughout the Martian year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"s7\"><span class=\"s6\"><span class=\"bumpedFont15\">EMM and the Hope probe are the culmination of a knowledge transfer and development effort started in 2006, which has seen Emirati engineers working with partners around the world to develop the UAE\u2019s spacecraft design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
