Media mogul, Mo Abudu, has been elected as a director of the International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n
The Academy is responsible for staging the world famous International Emmy Awards which recognizes excellence in the television industry globally.<\/p>\n
It is an organisation of global broadcasters, with members from over 60 countries, with over 500 companies.<\/p>\n
60 percent of the Board of Directors come from countries outside of the United States, and represents the world\u2019s largest production, distribution and broadcast companies.<\/p>\n
News Agency of Nigeria<\/em>\u00a0reports that Abudu, who heads the EbonyLife media group, announced the feat on Friday on her Instagram page @moabudu.<\/p>\n Stressing the importance of her appointment, she stated that it will aid the global recognition and acceptance of the Nigerian film industry.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cI am pleased about this appointment because it will be an enabler for the recognition of our work in TV and film across the globe. And I mean \u201cOur\u201d as in our work from Nigeria.<\/p>\n \u201cAs a member of the board, I join a select group of about 100 Directors who are international executives from leading channels, production and distribution companies.<\/p>\n \u201cI am expected to attend board and members meetings three or four times a year. It\u2019s time to change the narrative and get our stories told,\u201d Abudu wrote.<\/p>\n NAN reports that Abudu hosted and produced \u201cMoments with Mo\u2019\u2019, the first pan-African talk show, before she went on to found EbonyLife TV in 2012, which has grown into a media group.<\/p>\n In October, Mo was included in The Powerlist\u2019s top 100 most influential people of African and Caribbean heritage in the UK, alongside Meghan Markle, Anthony Joshua and Lewis Hamilton.<\/p>\n (NAN)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Media mogul, Mo Abudu, has been elected as a director of the International Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences.
