ValueJet, in partnership with Gateway Air, the official state-owned airline of Ogun State, has commenced a daily service connecting the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to Gateway International Airport in Iperu, Ogun State, via Lagos on the Abuja-Lagos-Gateway route.<\/p>\n
The service provides a seamless link between Nigeria\u2019s political capital and Ogun State\u2019s commercial and industrial corridor, enabling passengers to travel efficiently into the state while having the day available for business meetings, industrial site visits, government appointments, personal engagements and other commitments.<\/p>\n
The partnership brings together Gateway Air\u2019s role in advancing Ogun State\u2019s air connectivity and ValueJet\u2019s operational expertise to provide a consistent daily connection for travellers between the Federal Capital Territory and the state.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the service, the Managing Director of ValueJet, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the early morning departure was designed around the needs of passengers with demanding schedules.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur daily Abuja-Lagos-Gateway service is about giving our passengers their day back. With the option to fly five days a week, whether you are travelling for business or personal engagements in Ogun State and its environs, the service provides a route that fits around a busy schedule,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Highlighting the state administration\u2019s vision behind the service, the Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Olugbenga Dairo, noted that the initiative was designed to meet the growing demand for air connectivity among residents, businesses and visitors to Ogun State.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has therefore directed that the airline continually review and optimise its schedule and fleet size in response to the needs, requirements and expectations of travellers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Ogun State has emerged as an important commercial and industrial corridor in Nigeria, driven by its concentration of manufacturing activities, industrial estates, agricultural enterprises, logistics, real estate developments and economic free trade zones.<\/p>\n
Its proximity to Lagos, combined with the presence of major businesses and industrial clusters across the state, has increased demand for efficient connections for investors, business owners, professionals, government officials and other travellers.<\/p>\n
Regular air access through Gateway International Airport provides another link into this large economic corridor, reducing dependence on longer road journeys for passengers travelling from Abuja and other parts of Nigeria.<\/p>\n
The operation of the route aligns with ValueJet\u2019s broader strategy of supporting key state partnerships and expanding air connectivity. Alongside its domestic network, ValueJet manages operational partnerships and regional services to destinations such as Accra and Banjul, with further expansion planned to Libreville and beyond.<\/p>\n
