Olusanya said the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu recognises agriculture as a critical sector for economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development, adding that the state remains focused on attracting investments and empowering stakeholders across the agricultural value chain.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking on the theme, \u201cConnect & Thrive: Building Teams That Grow,\u201d the commissioner described the event as an avenue for agripreneurs, innovators, and industry professionals to connect, exchange ideas, and build partnerships capable of transforming the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n She explained that Lagos\u2019 deliberate focus on agriculture under the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda reflects the government\u2019s understanding of the importance of food production and its alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.<\/span><\/p>\n The commissioner noted that the Agrinnovation Club, established in November 2023 in Ikoyi, has continued to serve as a platform where entrepreneurs, innovators, and solution providers come together to identify challenges and develop practical solutions within the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n She also commended the commitment of officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, noting that their dedication has remained instrumental in implementing government policies and programmes.<\/span><\/p>\n The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr Emmanuel Audu, urged members of the Agrinnovation Club to become advocates for food security by encouraging more Lagos residents to participate in initiatives aimed at strengthening the state\u2019s agricultural ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n Audu said the platform promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and partnerships that can address challenges across the agricultural value chain.<\/span><\/p>\n He expressed optimism that the conversations and ideas generated at the event would translate into impactful innovations capable of advancing the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n The Guest Speaker, Mr Kamil Olufowobi, Founder\/Chairman of Most Influential 100, called for greater recognition of stakeholders in the agricultural sector who contribute to ensuring food availability for Nigerians.<\/span><\/p>\n Olufowobi encouraged participants to promote Nigerian food culture globally, just as the country\u2019s entertainment industries have gained international attention.<\/span><\/p>\n Speaking on food system safety, he emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards and hygiene, noting that Lagos, as a major destination for food tourism, must continue to uphold best practices.<\/span><\/p>\n He added that modern agriculture has moved beyond traditional farming, stressing the need for innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainable solutions to meet the demands of a growing population.<\/span><\/p>\n In his vote of thanks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture and Food Systems, Dr Oluwarotimi Fashola, charged members of the Agrinnovation Club to network, collaborate, and support one another.<\/p>\n According to him, collective efforts and shared ideas remain critical to solving food challenges.<\/p>\n Dr Fashola noted that the foundation being laid today would have lasting impact on the future, urging participants to build strong frameworks that would contribute to a better
