<\/p>\nA coalition of women across Badagry has thrown its weight behind Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, endorsing him as their preferred candidate for the Lagos State governorship under the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n
Operating under the banner of the Women of Badagry Federation, the group said their position reflects a collective demand for fairness, insisting that Badagry has remained politically marginalised since the creation of Lagos State in 1967, despite its consistent contributions to governance and party growth.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a media briefing held at the Badagry Town Hall, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Rafeequat Arinola Onabamiro, clarified that the move was not a protest but a call for justice and inclusion.<\/p>\n

She noted that Badagry has played a stabilising role at critical moments in the state\u2019s political history, emphasizing that the division has consistently delivered support, mobilisation, and loyalty whenever required.<\/p>\n
Onabamiro urged President Bola Tinubu to consider the long-standing demand, stating that granting Badagry the opportunity to produce the next governor would reflect equity and strengthen unity across Lagos State.<\/p>\n
She added that the division is a key stakeholder in the state\u2019s future and deserves recognition beyond symbolic representation.<\/p>\n

She also cautioned against individuals who exploit Badagry\u2019s identity to secure political appointments without truly advancing the interests of the people, stressing that such practices would no longer be tolerated.<\/p>\n
Reaffirming their choice, she described Dr. Ajose as a committed party loyalist with a track record of contributing to the growth of both the APC and the South West region.<\/p>\n
In his remarks, Chief Rasheed Shobaloju, speaking for Dr. Ajose, described the demand as both legitimate and timely, expressing optimism that party leaders would give it due consideration.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the initiative is rooted in dialogue and appeal, not agitation, calling on President Tinubu and the APC leadership to respond positively to the request.<\/p>\n
Also lending her voice, APC women leader Mrs. Kikelomo Ladipo assured that women in Badagry are prepared to mobilise extensively in support of the party in the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Hon. Funmi Agbaje emphasised the political strength of women, noting that they form the largest voting bloc and remain decisive in determining electoral outcomes. She affirmed that women across Badagry are united in backing Ajose\u2019s ambition.<\/p>\n
