The immediate past Special Adviser on Environment, Information and Civic Engagement to the Agege Local Government, <\/span>Olayiwola Rasheed Emmanuel<\/span>, has attributed the sustained political stability and consistent electoral victories recorded in Agege to the disciplined and strategic leadership of the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, <\/span>Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rasheed made this assertion amid heightened public discussions surrounding party activities in Agege, particularly the ongoing <\/span>All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

He argued that leadership performance should be evaluated through long-term outcomes, strong organisational structures, and continuous grassroots engagement, rather than short-term figures or transient data.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to him, Agege\u2019s political trajectory reflects a system built on discipline, credibility, and sustained engagement with party members and residents at the grassroots level.<\/span><\/p>\n

He cited a recent strategic intervention by Speaker Obasa in support of the APC e-registration drive across Lagos State. In January, Obasa facilitated the provision of <\/span>80 5G-enabled tablets and 40 printers<\/span>, alongside the deployment of trained personnel to assist the digital registration process statewide. Party officials described the initiative as a move aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and participation in the party\u2019s membership drive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rasheed noted that effective leadership requires consistency of vision, stakeholder inclusion, and the capacity to deliver measurable results over multiple political cycles. He said Agege\u2019s record over the years demonstrates how leadership continuity strengthens public confidence and political stability.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also referenced the recent working visit of the <\/span>Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi<\/span>, to Agege Local Government, during which the party chairman reportedly affirmed that Agege has not lost an election under Dr. Obasa\u2019s leadership. <\/span><\/p>\n

He described the remark as further validation of a political structure anchored on planning, discipline, and grassroots mobilisation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Addressing criticisms surrounding APC membership registration figures, Rasheed stressed that Agege places greater emphasis on <\/span>credibility and compliance<\/span> than on numerical inflation. <\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that the local government prioritises registering committed party members who align with the party\u2019s ideology and leadership, in strict adherence to established guidelines.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAgege\u2019s political strength is most evident where it truly matters \u2014 at the polls,\u201d Rasheed said, adding that the area\u2019s consistent electoral performance reflects strong internal party discipline and effective grassroots coordination.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that the political models which demonstrate sustained effectiveness over time should be studied rather than discounted, describing Obasa\u2019s leadership as one rooted in experience, foresight, and deep grassroots engagement. <\/span><\/p>\n
