Wale Raji, has outlined a wide range of interventions implemented across Epe Federal Constituency, aimed at improving security, education, infrastructure, and social welfare for residents.

Speaking during a live interview on Rainbow 94.1 FM’s Gbagede Oro programme, anchored by Opeyemi Makinde, the lawmaker disclosed that more than 2,000 streetlights have been installed across strategic locations within the constituency to enhance safety, particularly in previously dark and vulnerable areas.

Hon. Raji also announced the upgrade and renovation of the Epe Divisional Police Station to a full-fledged divisional headquarters. The facility, now equipped with modern operational tools to boost response to emergencies, was recently commissioned by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, and named in honour of AIG Ganiyu Atanda Agbaje, the first indigene of Epe to retire at that rank.

The federal legislator explained that the projects were executed under the Constituency Project framework, noting that lawmakers do not receive funds directly but are empowered to nominate priority projects and monitor their implementation.

Addressing the education sector, Hon. Raji said the constituency has long grappled with inadequate school infrastructure. He stated that over 170 classrooms have been constructed across several communities, including Itemu, where new junior and senior secondary schools were established. Additional classroom blocks were also built in Ilara and Odu Obara, all fitted with modern furniture.

He added that the Oriba community, which previously had no secondary school, now boasts the Oko Abe Junior Community High School. According to him, the project has ended the dangerous practice of students travelling by water to attend school in neighbouring communities.

Hon. Raji further disclosed that Epe Secondary School, one of the oldest institutions in the area, has been provided with newly built hostels for both male and female students, alongside other ongoing projects scheduled for commissioning by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa.

In the area of economic empowerment, the lawmaker said sections of the historic Aiyetoro Market, estimated to be over 80 years old, were redeveloped. Through his intervention, additional shops were constructed under the Constituency Project and allocated to traders at no cost. He noted that similar initiatives have led to the construction of about 800 shops in markets across Mojoda, Itoikin, and Agbowa, all distributed free to beneficiaries.

On social welfare, Hon. Raji revealed that 150 elderly residents aged 70 and above have been receiving a monthly stipend of ₦10,000 for more than five years, alongside regular health and welfare visits.

He also stated that over 50 indigenes have secured employment opportunities at both federal and state levels, while more than 200 residents were trained in animal husbandry in Araga and supported with ₦100,000 each as start-up capital.

Responding to reports alleging abandonment of key roads, including the Itoikin, Gberigbe, and Ikorodu–Epe roads, Hon. Raji dismissed the claims, stressing that contractors remain on site, with additional backing from Senator Tokunbo Abiru.

Epe Federal Constituency comprises communities such as Agbowa, Eredo, Ise, Ode Omi, Ilara, Ketu, Noforija, Ejirin, and Igboye.

So of his major achievements as of 2026 include:

Education and ICT

Classroom Infrastructure: Facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of over 160 classroom blocks across various public schools in Epe.

New Schools: Established at least 5 new schools, including Ilege Secondary School and Temu Junior Secondary School, which he subsequently handed over to the Lagos State Government for staffing and operation.

Student Support: Distributed essential materials such as mattresses for Epe Grammar School students and established functional ICT centersto boost digital literacy.

Economic Empowerment and Markets

Market Development: Facilitated the construction of market stalls at Ayetoro Marketand other locations to support local businesses.

Financial Grants: Supported small business owners with loan grants and provided agricultural assistance to farmers.

Vocational Training: Sponsored programs to provide vocational and technical training for young people.

Infrastructure and Security

Roads and Lighting: Facilitated over 20 road projects, many featuring solar street lights for enhanced security.

Security Facilities: Contributed to improving security infrastructure by constructing new police accommodations.

Social Welfare

Elderly Care: Initiated a monthly welfare program for elderly residents, providing financial support.

Healthcare: Supported medical outreach initiatives offering free screenings and surgeries.

Legislative Activities

Bill Sponsorship: Sponsored bills related to worker casualization and terrorism prevention.

Budget Reform: Played a role in restoring the standard budget cycle.

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon.
