The Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area has proposed a total budget of <\/span>\u20a67.87 billion<\/span> for the 2026 fiscal year, signaling a strong commitment to infrastructural expansion, social development, and improved service delivery across the council.<\/span><\/p>\n

The proposed budget, tagged the <\/span>Budget of Progress and Sustainability<\/span>, was presented by the Executive Chairman, <\/span>Mayor Abiodun Jimoh Isola<\/span>, to the Legislative Council during a plenary session at the council chamber on Friday, December 19, 2025. The chairman described the financial plan as a landmark document, being the first budget of his administration since assuming office.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the proposal, the total estimated expenditure for 2026 stands at <\/span>\u20a67,865,866,100.49<\/span>, which is expected to be funded through statutory allocations, Value Added Tax proceeds, internally generated revenue, and other coordinated revenue sources. <\/span><\/p>\n

The bulk of the projected income, amounting to <\/span>\u20a65.90 billion<\/span>, is expected from Value Added Tax, while <\/span>\u20a61.51 billion<\/span> is projected from federal statutory allocation. Additional revenue streams include FAAC-related inflows, state coordinated revenue, and internally generated revenue estimated at over <\/span>\u20a6232 million<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the spending side, the council plans to channel significant resources into development projects, with over <\/span>\u20a63.36 billion<\/span> earmarked for capital and other development initiatives. Personnel costs are projected at <\/span>\u20a61.41 billion<\/span>, while overhead expenses will account for approximately <\/span>\u20a62.95 billion<\/span>. An allocation of <\/span>\u20a6150 million<\/span> is set aside for social services aimed at addressing welfare needs within the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mayor Isola stated that the 2026 budget is designed to strengthen primary healthcare delivery, improve the quality of education, enhance security of lives and property, and accelerate road construction and rehabilitation to support economic activities across the LCDA. <\/span><\/p>\n

He also noted that provisions have been made for youth and women empowerment through entrepreneurship support and targeted social interventions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The council chairman described the budget as a reflection of his administration\u2019s resolve to govern with responsibility, accountability, and compassion, while ensuring that development reaches all segments of the community. <\/span><\/p>\n
