{"id":25230,"date":"2025-10-14T21:28:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T21:28:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=25230"},"modified":"2025-10-14T21:28:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T21:28:44","slug":"jandor-urges-calm-says-lagos-demolitions-not-targeted-at-igbos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=25230","title":{"rendered":"Jandor Urges Calm, Says Lagos Demolitions Not Targeted at Igbos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">A gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly known as <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Jandor<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, has dismissed claims that the ongoing demolition of illegal structures in the state is targeted at any ethnic group, particularly the Igbo community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Speaking during a meeting with Igbo leaders and members of Team Jandor from the South East at the Liberty House, Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, on Tuesday, Jandor urged the Igbo community in Lagos to remain calm, maintain peace, and continue to live harmoniously with their Yoruba hosts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to him, the demolition exercise is aimed at restoring order and urban sanity, not at persecuting any tribe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe ongoing demolitions are not directed at anyone. They are meant to clean up the state. For example, Ola of Lagos\u2019s house was demolished because it was built under a high-tension cable \u2014 and he\u2019s Yoruba. Imagine if he were Igbo; what would people have said?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Jandor, who is also the Lead Visioner of the <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Lagos4Lagos<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> movement, reminded the audience that Lagos has always been an inclusive state where everyone has equal opportunity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cWe sell land to everyone, regardless of their origin. The model of having people from other tribes in the state executive began with President Bola Tinubu when he was governor of Lagos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cToday, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, who recently joined the APC, has a Yoruba in his cabinet \u2014 a model copied from Asiwaju\u2019s leadership style,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">He praised the Igbo community for their immense contributions to the economic growth of Lagos, especially through the Alaba International Market in Ojo, his home local government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Sam Egube, is an Igbo man.
