{"id":25202,"date":"2025-10-11T10:23:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T10:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=25202"},"modified":"2025-10-11T10:41:46","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T10:41:46","slug":"oluwaseun-evelyn-wins-most-beautiful-farmer-lagos-drives-home-%e2%82%a615m-truck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=25202","title":{"rendered":"Oluwaseun Evelyn Wins \u2018Most Beautiful Farmer Lagos\u2019 as Government Reiterates Commitment to Food Sufficiency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">It was all cheers and excitement in Alausa as <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Oluwaseun Evelyn<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> of <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Farm 2 Fill<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> clinched the crown at the maiden edition of the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Most Beautiful Farmer Lagos<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> competition, organised by the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Farm Junction Foundation<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> in partnership with the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Evelyn outshone 12 other finalists to emerge overall winner, taking home a <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u20a615 million truck<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> as her grand prize. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Baliqees Ibrahim<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> of <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Green Republic Farms<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> came second and received <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u20a62 million<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, while <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Oluwaseun Obadan<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> of <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Arso Farms<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> finished third, earning <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u20a61 million<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The remaining nine contestants didn\u2019t leave empty-handed \u2014 each received a <\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u20a6250,000 consolation prize<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Speaking at the colourful grand finale held at the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Martinos Event Centre<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, CBD, Alausa, the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Ms. Abisola Olusanya<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, said the contest was not just about physical beauty but about showcasing creativity, intelligence, and expertise in agriculture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThis competition is designed to celebrate the brains and innovation behind food production, not just beauty,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Olusanya reaffirmed the state government\u2019s commitment to ensuring <\/span><span class=\"s1\">food sufficiency<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, adding that the next edition might include men to make it even more inclusive. She commended the organisers for their dedication, revealing that it took over a year of planning to make the competition a reality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">She also announced that the winners would be specially presented during the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">World Food Day grand finale<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> on <\/span><span class=\"s1\">October 16<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> at the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Police College, Ikeja<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">Addressing the contestants\u2019 concerns, Olusanya reminded them that the government had earlier provided <\/span><span class=\"s1\">free inputs<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> to farmers and that the new <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Eko Logistics<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> initiative would boost cold-chain storage and transport for perishable produce.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">In her victory speech, a visibly excited <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Oluwaseun Evelyn<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> thanked the organisers and the Lagos State Government for the platform, promising to use her win to inspire young Nigerians to take agriculture seriously.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cI\u2019m deeply grateful for this opportunity.
