The apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alimosho Federal Constituency and Director General of Grassroots Mobilization for Tinubu, Hon. Bisi Yusuff, has taken a swipe at the newly formed coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections, describing its members as \u201cstrange bedfellows\u201d and \u201ca bunch of jesters.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hon. Yusuff, a three-term Lagos State lawmaker and pioneer chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, said the coalition is made up of individuals who contributed to Nigeria\u2019s present challenges and are now attempting to deceive Nigerians for selfish gain.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThese are the same people who ruined Nigeria. They\u2019re not patriots, they\u2019re clowns. Their agenda is not about the people; it\u2019s about their own ambition,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n He cited key figures in the coalition, including former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who oversaw the controversial sale of ALSCON, a $3.3 billion asset sold for $250 million as well as Senator David Mark, who opposed the June 12 mandate and served as Senate President for eight years.<\/span><\/p>\n Yusuff also mentioned Alhaji Sule Lamido, accused of betraying the June 12 cause and facing corruption allegations during his time as Jigawa State Governor, and Arc Tom Ikimi, a former minister under the Abacha regime who turned his back on democratic ideals.<\/span><\/p>\n On former Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Yusuff said: \u201cRotimi Amaechi was Speaker in Rivers (1999\u20132007), Governor (2007\u20132015), and Transport Minister (2015\u20132022). He resigned to contest the APC presidential ticket but lost. Now, he\u2019s suddenly hungry. Nigerians are not dumb.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The veteran lawmaker argued that President Tinubu is actively delivering dividends of democracy and has earned his right to a second term. \u201cHe defeated every evil plot even when he wasn\u2019t in power. Now, as a performing president, how do these jesters think they can unseat him?
