<\/span><span class=\"s1\">Ugosimba I of Enugu<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> by the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The title, which translates to <\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u201cThe Precious Jewel That Shines Across the Land\u201d<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, was bestowed on her in recognition of her outstanding commitment to women\u2019s women and children, and a national icon whose dedication has inspired positive change in many communities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The event, held in Enugu, coincided with the grand finale of the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Free to Shine Triple Elimination Campaign<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, an initiative led by the First Lady to eliminate HIV\/AIDS, syphilis, and class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In her remarks, the First Lady emphasized the urgent need to protect the future generation of Nigerians from preventable and treatable diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cThe <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Free to Shine<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> campaign seeks to significantly reduce new HIV infections among women of reproductive age, prevent mother-to-child (vertical) transmission, and ensure that every child born with HIV receives the necessary treatment and support to thrive,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cIt is heartbreaking to know that just two years ago, 15,000 children aged 0\u201314 lost their lives to AIDS-related illnesses. Each of these children was not just a statistic, but a future full of potential cut short. She also encouraged regular testing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cHIV\/AIDS is no longer a death sentence. Treatment is accessible. Please, let us stop stigmatizing those living with the disease,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cTo our dear children and youth, this campaign cannot succeed without your involvement. You are our future. Yet, your age group remains one of the most vulnerable.
