{"id":23724,"date":"2025-05-03T15:38:28","date_gmt":"2025-05-03T15:38:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=23724"},"modified":"2025-05-03T15:49:29","modified_gmt":"2025-05-03T15:49:29","slug":"apc-clears-432-chairmanship-aspirants-for-lagos-lg-polls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=23724","title":{"rendered":"APC Clears 432 Chairmanship Aspirants for Lagos LG Polls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>\u202638 Disqualified Over Lack of PVCs, Party Membership Cards, and Fake Certificates<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The Electoral Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has released the list of successful Chairmanship aspirants ahead of the July 12 Local Government Elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The screening exercise, which involved <\/span><span class=\"s1\">470 aspirants<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, was conducted between <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Tuesday, April 29 and Friday, May 3<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> at the party\u2019s Secretariat on Acme Road, Ogba.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Out of the total number screened, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">432 aspirants were cleared<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> to contest in the party primaries, while <\/span><span class=\"s1\">38 were either disqualified or voluntarily withdrew<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> from the race.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The committee cited <\/span><span class=\"s1\">lack of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), missing party membership cards, and submission of fake secondary school results<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> as the primary reasons for disqualification.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">According to the party\u2019s guidelines, the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">indirect primaries<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u2014to be conducted by executive members across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 LCDAs\u2014will be held on <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Saturday, May 10<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Disqualified aspirants have the opportunity to appeal the decision between <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Sunday, May 4 and Monday, May 5<\/span><span class=\"s2\">. Those dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries may submit their petitions to the <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Appeal Committee<\/span><span class=\"s2\"> from <\/span><span class=\"s1\">May 12 to 13<\/span><span class=\"s2\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Speaking exclusively to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/thenewsnow.org\/index.php\/2025\/05\/03\/breaking-apc-clears-432-chairmanship-aspirants-for-july-12-lg-polls-in-lagos\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"s3\">TheNewsNow.org<\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\">, Chairman of the APC Electoral Committee, <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Barr.
