{"id":23121,"date":"2025-03-27T15:10:04","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T15:10:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=23121"},"modified":"2025-03-27T15:10:04","modified_gmt":"2025-03-27T15:10:04","slug":"return-to-your-parents-not-boyfriends-after-receiving-certificates-nysc-coordinator-urges-corps-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=23121","title":{"rendered":"Return to Your Parents, Not Boyfriends, After Receiving Certificates \u2013 NYSC Coordinator Urges Corps Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">The Bauchi State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, has urged female corps members to return to their parents after completing their one-year mandatory service, rather than heading to their boyfriends\u2019 homes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Yakubu gave the advice on Thursday during the distribution of National Service certificates to corps members who successfully completed their service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Addressing the 2024 Batch \u2018A\u2019 Stream II female corps members, she said, <\/span><span class=\"s3\">\u201cLadies, please remember that your boyfriends are not your parents. After collecting your certificates, go home and celebrate with your family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She also encouraged corps members to apply the skills they acquired during their service, particularly those gained through the NYSC\u2019s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cEven if you did not fully engage in the SAED programme, it\u2019s not too late. Instead of staying idle at home, find something productive to do. Use your last allowance wisely\u2014invest in learning a trade or skill to support yourself and your family,\u201d<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> she advised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Yakubu further warned corps members against engaging in criminal activities such as internet fraud, kidnapping, and ritual killings in the pursuit of quick wealth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cThese are not the values NYSC has instilled in you. You have been trained to be responsible members of society.
