The <\/span>former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation<\/span> under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, <\/span>Dr. Betta Edu<\/span>, hosted an esteemed gathering for the breaking of fast (Iftar) at her residence in Calabar, welcoming prominent dignitaries and members of the Muslim community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the distinguished guests was <\/span>His Highness, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR<\/span>, who also serves as the <\/span>Chancellor of the University of Calabar<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Emir, accompanied by his entourage, was warmly received for the Ramadan event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also in attendance was the <\/span>Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey<\/span>, alongside the <\/span>Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Professor Florence Obi<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She led a delegation comprising the <\/span>Chairman and members of the University\u2019s Governing Council<\/span>, the university management, and representatives from the student community.<\/span><\/p>\n

The gathering also saw the presence of <\/span>leaders of the Muslim community in Cross River State<\/span>, along with other faithful observing the holy month of Ramadan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Dr. Betta Edu emphasized the significance of <\/span>unity and interfaith harmony<\/span>, noting that the Iftar took place at a time when Christian faithful were also observing Lent.<\/span><\/p>\n

She reaffirmed that Nigeria remains a <\/span>nation under God<\/span>, with President <\/span>Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s administration<\/span> committed to fostering cultural appreciation and religious inclusivity, in line with the <\/span>Renewed Hope Agenda<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
