In a recent interview, El-Rufai expressed disappointment in Tinubu\u2019s leadership, stating that despite his past confidence in the president\u2019s governance capabilities, he now considers his administration a failure.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat pains me is that the government we supported and had confidence in would do well because we saw what Tinubu did in Lagos despite his challenges. We all know about his issues in Chicago, but we thought if he could replicate his work in Lagos for Nigeria, let\u2019s support him. However, he failed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Addressing allegations of betraying former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai insisted that their relationship predates politics and maintained that he has always spoken the truth, even challenging former President Muhammadu Buhari over the controversial naira redesign policy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI never betrayed Atiku Abubakar because we didn\u2019t meet in politics; we met at work. If I see that he didn\u2019t do well, whoever he is, I will tell him. I told Buhari, and I even took Buhari to court on the new naira issue.\u201d<\/p>\n
