Shotobi, Ogedengbe recounted that Mohbad’s condition worsened after she stepped out to get additional medical supplies. She received a frantic call that he had begun convulsing.

According to her, after administering the tetanus injection, Mohbad developed goosebumps—a reaction his wife, Omowunmi, dismissed as a “normal response” for him.

Ogedengbe explained that on September 12, 2024, she was contacted by Ayobami Sodiq (popularly known as Spending) to treat Mohbad for a wound he sustained while allegedly drunk and tipsy. The singer reportedly smashed a car window with his hand during a heated argument with a friend after a performance in Ikorodu.

Upon her arrival at Mohbad’s Lekki residence at about 2:30 pm, she observed a swollen cut on his right hand. She proceeded to administer a tetanus shot to his upper arm. Knowing he had an ulcer, she opted for paracetamol instead of diclofenac.

She then injected him with 4ml of paracetamol diluted with 1ml of water, alongside a slow 10ml dose of ceftriaxone to combat bacterial infection.

As she administered the ceftriaxone, Mohbad suddenly felt discomfort and rushed to the toilet to vomit.

“After vomiting, he returned to the room and sat on the floor, where I noticed goosebumps all over his body,” Ogedengbe stated.

She alerted Omowunmi, who reiterated that the reaction was normal for him.

Four people were in the room at the time—Mohbad, his wife, Ayobami, and the nurse herself.

Ogedengbe said she then questioned Omowunmi about why she hadn’t mentioned this reaction earlier.

“Omowunmi then took Mohbad to the bathroom and began pouring water on his head,” she recalled.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Ogedengbe and Ayobami rushed to a pharmacy for medication to counter the allergic reaction. However, they encountered delays at the first pharmacy.

“After visiting another pharmacy and securing hydrocortisone injection and normal saline infusion, we rushed back—only to find Mohbad outside the house. At that point, preparations were already being made to take him to the hospital,” she narrated.

With no available vehicle and heavy traffic hampering movement, Mohbad was hurriedly transported to the hospital on a motorcycle. Tragically, he was declared dead on arrival.

Ogedengbe recalled that upon arrival at the hospital, medical personnel initially hesitated to treat him, leading to confusion.

His body was later taken back to the house around 8 pm, while the group proceeded to Orchid Lekki Police Station to obtain a death certificate. The police later directed them to Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah for further reporting.

Following cross-examination by the counsel for Mohbad’s family, Dr. Wahab Shittu, SAN; Omowunmi’s counsel, Kabir Akingbolu; and the state’s legal representatives, the case was adjourned to Friday, March 21, 2024, for further hearing.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions had earlier disclosed that Ogedengbe and Sodiq would be prosecuted for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

In contrast, a Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, in February 2025, acquitted popular music star Abdulazeez Fashola (Naira Marley), music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde, of any wrongdoing in the case.

In a dramatic testimony at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, the auxiliary nurse who treated the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, revealed how the rapper developed a reaction and started vomiting after she administered a tetanus injection.

[5
84,10304,7596,7635
post-22683","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-entertainment","tag-death","tag-final-moments","tag-mohbad","tag-nurse
