{"id":21792,"date":"2025-01-03T15:47:19","date_gmt":"2025-01-03T15:47:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=21792"},"modified":"2025-01-03T17:01:06","modified_gmt":"2025-01-03T17:01:06","slug":"2027-ogun-governorship-egba-coalition-denies-endorsing-yayi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblogonline.com\/?p=21792","title":{"rendered":"2027 Ogun Governorship: Egba Coalition Denies Endorsing Yayi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><b><i>\u2026Lists Bankole, Amusan, Ishola, and Others as Potential Egba Governorship Aspirants<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The Egba Coalition Group, under the banner <\/span><span class=\"s3\">Egba Lokan Agenda 2027<\/span><span class=\"s2\">, has refuted claims of endorsing Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solomon_Adeola&amp;sa=U&amp;sqi=2&amp;ved=2ahUKEwi60MLQgtqKAxWpXUEAHTn9JroQFnoECFQQAQ&amp;usg=AOvVaw33FO0zvDjFYuqKyVV8SMjO\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Solomon Adeola<\/a>, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">In a statement issued by the group\u2019s chairman, Chief Mustapha Abdulhakeem, the coalition clarified its stance following a publication linking it to the endorsement of Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/nass.gov.ng\/mps\/single\/667&amp;sa=U&amp;sqi=2&amp;ved=2ahUKEwi60MLQgtqKAxWpXUEAHTn9JroQFnoECC8QAQ&amp;usg=AOvVaw3JPSXtTrN25x_3AjDWBLoX\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adeola<\/a>, who currently represents Ogun West Senatorial District. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Abdulhakeem described the reports as \u201cmisleading, mischievous, and baseless,\u201d emphasizing that Egbaland has no shortage of credible individuals to provide leadership at any level of governance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The controversy arose after Kayode Oladele, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, praised the group for allegedly recognizing Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/citizensciencenigeria.org\/public-offices\/persons\/solomon-olamilekan-adeola&amp;sa=U&amp;sqi=2&amp;ved=2ahUKEwi60MLQgtqKAxWpXUEAHTn9JroQFnoECDEQAQ&amp;usg=AOvVaw0gydg1HIGnCISBMNKs-uh-\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adeola<\/a> as one of the Egba hopefuls for the 2027 governorship race. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Yemi Oke, one of the group\u2019s founding members, had reportedly named Adeola alongside other aspirants, including former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; Hon.
