In a bid to accelerate digital transformation across Nigeria\u2019s public sector, Hon. Olusegun Olulade<\/a>, Executive Director of Customer Centricity & Marketing at Galaxy Backbone<\/a>, addressed attendees at the November edition of \u201cDevs in Government,\u201d an influential forum dedicated to innovation in public service.<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of Galaxy Backbone\u2019s Managing Director, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, Hon. Olulade underscored the organization\u2019s commitment to bridging Nigeria\u2019s digital divide, particularly in local government service delivery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Centered on the theme <\/span>\u201cInnovating Digital Solutions for Improved Local Government Service Delivery,\u201d<\/span>the event highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to make public services more accessible and efficient. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis theme resonates strongly with Galaxy Backbone\u2019s mission,\u201d Hon. Olulade noted, emphasizing the agency\u2019s vision for inclusive digital access across Nigeria. He praised the forum as a \u201cpowerful platform for transforming the nation\u2019s Federal Public Service.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the key projects spotlighted was the <\/span>774 LG Connectivity Project<\/b><\/span>, <\/b>led by Nigeria\u2019s Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative seeks to bridge connectivity gaps by deploying high-speed broadband across Nigeria\u2019s 774 local governments, especially in rural communities. Galaxy Backbone, alongside Nigcomsat, has been instrumental in advancing this effort, which is crucial for fostering equity in digital access nationwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olulade shared exciting progress updates, noting that six strategic sites have already been connected in the Federal Capital Territory, Zamfara, and Kwara states, with plans for further rollout. <\/span><\/p>\n

This expansion is supported by Galaxy Backbone\u2019s <\/span>state-of-the-art fiber transmission network and advanced digital infrastructure<\/b><\/span>, which together ensure secure, high-speed connectivity for local governments.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGalaxy Backbone is not just connecting local government offices; we\u2019re connecting people, empowering communities, and driving Nigeria towards a more inclusive digital future,\u201d Olulade stated. <\/span><\/p>\n

He highlighted how the newly established infrastructure will serve as a foundation for future digital services, which could uplift and enhance local communities in transformative ways.<\/span><\/p>\n

REMARKS BY HONOURABLE OLUSEGUN OLULADE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CUSTOMER CENTRICITY & MARKETING, GALAXY BACKBONE, AT THE NOVEMBER EDITION OF DEVS IN GOVERNMENT<\/span><\/p>\n

The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani; distinguished Heads of Agencies; Heads of ICT across Federal Government MDAs; members of the Devs In Government community; Ladies and Gentlemen,<\/span><\/p>\n

Good afternoon. It\u2019s a pleasure to be here at this month’s Devs in Government, which has grown into a powerful platform for transforming the nation\u2019s Federal Public Service. I am honored to extend greetings on behalf of Galaxy Backbone’s Managing Director\/Chief Executive, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, who regrets being unable to join us today due to pressing commitments out of town, but has entrusted me to represent him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s theme, “Innovating Digital Solutions for Improved Local Government Service Delivery,” resonates strongly with Galaxy Backbone\u2019s mission to bridge the digital divide and drive inclusive digital access across Nigeria. It\u2019s an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas on harnessing technology to transform local government operations, enhancing the effectiveness and accessibility of public services.<\/span><\/p>\n

One key initiative advancing this goal is the 774 LG Connectivity Project, spearheaded by Dr. Bosun Tijani. This project is designed to bridge the connectivity gap between urban and rural communities, ensuring that every part of Nigeria has access to high-speed broadband. <\/span><\/p>\n

Galaxy Backbone, in collaboration with our sister agency Nigcomsat, is proud to support this vital effort. We are making strides in the phased rollout of this project, and I\u2019m pleased to report that six strategic sites have already been connected across the FCT, Zamfara, and Kwara states.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our state-of-the-art fiber transmission network and advanced digital infrastructure deliver unparalleled, secure connectivity. <\/span><\/p>\n
