Labour Party\u2019s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has appealed to the people of Ondo State to reject vote trading in the upcoming governorship election on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a campaign rally in Akure on Monday, Obi expressed concern over the state of Nigeria\u2019s democracy, describing vote-buying as an act carried out with stolen funds and calling on voters to resist it.<\/p>\n
Obi emphasized the need for collective action to rebuild Nigeria\u2019s democracy, saying, \u201cWe\u2019re here to campaign for a Nigeria where there\u2019s opportunity for all, where our children are educated, our hospitals are functional, and our citizens are uplifted from poverty.\u201d<\/p>\n
He urged Ondo voters to reject money offered by those who \u201ccontinue to steal more\u201d and instead support efforts to shift Nigeria from a consumption-based to a production-based economy.<\/p>\n
At the rally, Labour Party\u2019s governorship candidate, Sola Ebiseni, highlighted the party\u2019s legacy in Ondo State, noting its popularity and past contributions.<\/p>\n
